A fun and engaging guide to everything “stock market”, this book does a great job at explaining how stock markets work, why companies go public and what it means to own shares in a business. A great read and a great gift idea to get teenagers interested in investing.

A great introduction to money and investing, this book covers the basics of how the financial markets work and why they exist, what bonds and stocks are, and how you can start investing.

3. THE MOTLEY FOOL INVESTMENT GUIDE FOR TEENS (by David Gardner and Tom Gardner)

If there is one thing to say about the Motley Fool investment book series, is that they are fun! This book breaks down the basics of how to build wealth through saving and investing. It will open your eyes to the most powerful concept in investing (compounding!) and will hopefully motivate you to start taking control of your financial life.

4. BLUE CHIP KIDS (by David Bianchi)

This book provides a broad overview of the world of money and investing. From credit cards to certificates of deposit, interest rates, taxes and how the economy works, Blue Chip Kids is a great reference book and an ideal starting point to learn more about finance.

5. FINANCE 101 FOR KIDS (by Walter Andal)

Similar to Blue Chip Kids in structure and content, Finance 101 for Kids provides a broad overview of everything money. It uses easy-to-understand language and lots of hilarious illustrations to make financial literacy fun. An easy read for absolute beginners or younger kids wanting a soft introduction to finance.

6. WHAT ALL KIDS (AND ADULTS) SHOULD KNOW ABOUT SAVING & INVESTING (by Rob Pivnick)

I hesitated on this one, because I’m not sure it should be on my list of best financial literacy books for kids....or rather for grown-ups! But the truth is this fantastic little book summarises all you need to know about saving and investing in...38 pages! Great for anyone wanting to cut through the fuss and just go straight to the point. I love this one!

7. HOW TO TURN $100 INTO $1,000,000: EARN! SAVE! INVEST! (by James McKenna, Jeannine Glista)

This book combines great visuals and graphs with plenty of examples and crystal clear lessons. It goes into quite a lot of detail and would perhaps be best for those that already has some basic knowledge of investing. The language however is easy-to-understand and this makes a great reference book to go back to.

8. PERSONAL FINANCE THROUGH EVERYDAY STORIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD (by Elena Fernandez Prados)

This book takes financial literacy to a different level by using storytelling to illustrate and explain complicated concepts in easy-to-understand language and situations. A fun, entertaining and practical approach to learn about finance and discover the world- with characters as diverse as a Nigerian street vendor, a Lebanese influencer, and an Indian business tycoon.
